CITIVA has had the unique opportunity to cultivate, process, and research cannabis in partnership with the University of West Indies (UWI).Since then, Jamaica’s cannabis regulatory agency, the Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA), has developed a licensing structure for the cultivation, processing, and distribution of cannabis, in order to effectively regulate, monitor, and expand the overall industry. CITIVA has been issued a final Cultivation license, and we have contingent licenses for Processing, Research and Retail, and we expect to receive final licenses for those within the next several months.

Building a team for success – strategic hiring and resource allocation. CITIVA is excited to welcome Dr. Machel Emanuel as our new Head of Horticulture.  Dr. Emanuel holds a PhD in Botany and is a lecturer for the UWI Faculty of Life Sciences. In addition, Dr. Emanuel has served as an advisor and consultant to the Cannabis Licensing Authority, and he adds an intimate understanding of CLA compliance to our team.
